About Scott Kelly:

After working for a mid-size construction company as a project manager through the early 2000’s in Los Angeles, the great recession came along and put an end to that. Instead of getting out of Construction, at a time when it was falling off the cliff as an industry, Scott decided to become a General Contractor!  The week after passing the CA State License Board Exams, he enrolled in the Clean Energy Workforce Training Program, sponsored by the Department of Energy.  Once passing those exams, additional certification trainings were offered via scholarship.  These were, Multi Family Building Analyst (new and existing), SFH Building Analyst (new and existing), Green Building Professional (also, both new and existing), GreenPoint Rater, LEED AP, Energystar Home Performance, levels I, II and III.

At that point, Scott, after all of his experience in the field, and now with all of this new training, realized that this type of Subcontractor didn’t exist.  So, he became a High Performance Contractor specializing in Net Zero, Healthy Homes in the summer of 2010.

Through trial and error, Scott has perfected the trifecta of weatherization, insulation and ventilation.  He also serves the Passive House community, installing his energy efficiency measures.  While it hasn’t always been easy being a first mover, he has had the great fortune to work with some incredible people on many very dynamic projects over the years.
